Heni Ozi Cukier
Heni Ozi Cukier, also known as Professor HOC (born 29 January 1977 in São Paulo) is a political scientist, professor, author, and public speaker. In 2018, he was elected state legislator to serve a 4-year term at the State Legislative Assembly of São Paulo. Cukier currently serves as the director of the Postgraduate Program in Geopolitics (Global Dynamics) at the PUC Paraná University.
Heni Ozi Cukier was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. He is of Lebanese, Italian, Russian and Polish heritage through his grandparents. Cukier demonstrated a strong interest in global affairs and political science. He moved to the United States to pursue higher education, earning a dual degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Barry University. He later obtained a master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, D.C..
Paul Conroy
Paul Conroy is a British freelance conflict photojournalist and filmmaker known for his work in war zones such as the Balkans, the Middle East, and Syria. A former soldier, he transitioned to journalism after covering the Balkans and became a close associate and photographer for the acclaimed war correspondent Marie Colvin. Conroy was critically injured in a Syrian regime attack in 2012 that killed Colvin, an event he documented in his memoir, Under the Wire, which was adapted into a film and a documentary.
He is particularly recognized for his partnership with Marie Colvin, documenting events from conflicts in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. In 2012, while covering the siege of Homs, Syria, for The Sunday Times, Conroy and Colvin were attacked by Syrian forces. Colvin was killed in the attack, and Conroy was severely wounded but survived.
